    Most famous for her 1990 Booker prize-winning novel Possession, A.S. Byatt has felt the lure of fairytales since childhood. Exploring the complex moralities of the stories, feminine power and the role of the natural world, Byatt teases out our responses to a genre of fiction which portrays a distinctly adult world to the childish imagination.
