‘The Acrobat' by Allen Jones RA, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital
Friends have the opportunity to tour Chelsea and Westminster Hospital’s extraordinary art collection, which includes pieces by Allen Jones RA, Julien Opie, and Veronese’s “Resurrection of Christ” which hangs in the hospital chapel.
Uniquely, the hospital holds museum status due to the richness of the collection. Prior to a tour of the public art, Friends will enjoy a talk on art and its role in the healing process. The talk will highlight the place of the visual arts at the centre of the hospital’s conception and build, the current arts programme instigated by the hospital’s charity CW+, their commissioning process and plans for the future.
