RA Collection: Art

The client of Grims Dyke was the Royal Acadamician painter Frederick Goodall. A later, and more famous occupent of the house was W.S. Gilbert, operetta librettist with the composer Arthur Sullivan. The country house is neo-Tudor in style.

This set of drawings is chiefly composed of contract drawings, with all the principal floor plans and elevations given. A very fine perspective, shown at the Royal Academy Exhibition of 1872 is also included.
