Join us for a discussion with Artistic Director and Lead Principal dancer of English National Ballet, Tamara Rojo.

Tamara Rojo has been described as one of the most sublime dancers of her generation, starring in productions all over the world. She joined English National Ballet as Artistic Director and Lead Principal dancer in 2012, having previously been Principal dancer at the Royal Ballet.

Since Rojo became Artistic Director, the English National Ballet has gained new acclaim as it presents innovative new works while continuing to honour and reinvigorate traditional ballet. Rojo has been repeatedly recognised for her artistic excellence and has won numerous international awards including the 2010 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Dance. In January 2016 she became D.A. Magna Cum Laude, for her thesis on the ‘Psychological Profile of the Elite Dancer – Vocational Characteristics of the Professional Dancer’ at Rey Juan Carlos University, and was awarded a CBE for her services to ballet in the Queen’s 2016 New Year’s Honours.

This event will be led by broadcaster John Wilson.

This talk will be accompanied with speech-to-text transcription by STAGETEXT and BSL (British Sign Language) interpretation.
