We invite Friends of the RA to join us for an exclusive preview of our exhibition, ‘Renzo Piano: The Art of Making Buildings’, before it opens to the public.
Join us for an exclusive Friends preview of the exhibition, two days before it opens to the public, as we mark 50 years of architect Renzo Piano’s pioneering work.
From the Pompidou Centre in Paris to New York’s Whitney Museum, the buildings of Renzo Piano have enriched cities across the globe. United by a characteristic sense of lightness, and an interplay between tradition and invention, function and context, Piano’s buildings soar in the public imagination as they do in our skylines.
Renzo Piano: The Art of Making Buildings will focus on 16 of his most significant building projects, including The Shard in London and the Pompidou in Paris, through rarely seen drawings, models and full-scale maquettes. Designed and curated in close collaboration with Piano himself, the exhibition, the first in London to put the spotlight on Piano in 30 years, invites you to encounter architecture that touches the human spirit.
This event is open to Friends of the RA, RA250 Friends, RA250 Supporters and members of the Academicians’ Room only.
