Lundahl & Seitl introduce ‘Symphony of a Missing Room’

Swedish-born artists Lundahl & Seitl are bringing their experiential artwork ‘Symphony of a Missing Room: Archive of the Forgotten and Remembered’ to the RA this summer.

  • The transdisciplinary duo have taken this guided tour with a difference to a number of museums and galleries since its inception in 2009. Each version of the project is specific to the venue it takes place in, responding to its collections, exhibitions and history. And as Sam Phillips writes in RA Magazine, it is as much a tour through the visitor’s imagination as the actual physical space of the Royal Academy.

    In the video below, Christer Lundahl and Martina Seitl along with assistant artist Rachel Alexander describe how the project is being put together, and explain why the Summer Exhibition provides such an interesting subject.

    Symphony of a Missing Room is presented by LIFT and the Royal Academy of Arts. Supported by Festivals in Transition — Global City Local City with the support of the Culture Programme of the European Union.

    Six performances daily from 10am. 19 May—8 June 2014. Tickets £25 (£18 concs.)
