Podcast: curator Robert Meyrick on printmaker Stanley Anderson RA

Published 8 June 2015

Professor Robert Meyrick, co-curator of the RA’s Stanley Anderson exhibition, introduces the artist, best known for his series of prints memorialising England’s vanishing rural crafts.

  • This talk considers Anderson’s engravings alongside earlier, lesser-known works: drypoints of continental market scenes, etchings of down and outs in 1920s London, and alternative city views of construction and demolition sites. Meyrick pays close attention to the life and work of this now-marginalised British artist, whose printmaking career spanned nearly half a century.
