A major sculptural installation by Richard Wilson RA has gone on display in Hong Kong this week. The work, Hang On A Minute Lads, I’ve Got A Great Idea, features a full-sized replica of a vintage Harrington Legionnaire coach that appears to be teetering on the edge of The Peninsula Hotel’s seventh-floor Sun Terrace. The work is inspired by the final line of the 1969 British heist movie The Italian Job, as spoken by screen legend Michael Caine.

It is the first installation in a three-year partnership between the hotel and the Royal Academy. Celebrating its status as a Grade I-listed heritage building, The Peninsula will showcase the work of select artists – all Royal Academicians – as they interact with the building in unexpected, playful and meaningful ways.

“Hang On A Minute Lads… I’ve Got A Great Idea” is at The Peninsula Hong Kong until 8 April 2015.
