We’ve been championing art and architecture since 1768 – from hosting ground-breaking exhibitions and a world-class collection, to nurturing young artists and providing free education in the RA Schools.
As a charity without government funding, the RA has been hit hard by the lockdown. With no income from visitors, we’ve been losing £1m a month, relying on our Friends and supporters and they’ve been typically magnificent.

The Academicians’ Room
For all the benefits of being a Friend and more, join the Academicians’ Room, our private members’ club for artists and art-lovers. Tucked away on the first floor of the Keeper’s House, you’ll find a vibrant and relaxed haven where members can meet, share drinks, conversation and food.
Patrons of the RA
Become a Patron and play a vital role in allowing us to function as an independent charitable organisation. Your generosity will, among other things, support our world-class exhibition programme, maintain our historic Library and Collection, and help provide free tuition for students at the RA Schools.
