Sketchbook | Pen
To record the natural world:
• look around and notice all the different materials, surfaces and patterns that make up your environment
• using a pen, trace around a circular shape and fill your sketchbook page with circles—as ink cannot be rubbed out, it will help you be bold when making marks!
• fill each circle with different kinds of marks. You can use lines, dots, curves, dashes…
• Which texture or surface are suggested by the different marks you have made?
• Do different marks seem to represent different materials?
• Do some make seem more made-made and others more natural?
