Each year the Royal Academy of Arts presents a number of significant prizes for outstanding works within the Summer Exhibition. Over £50,000 is offered in awards and prizes for every category of work in the exhibition, including sculpture, architecture, drawing, works on paper, painting, photography and prints.

The prestigious £25,000 Charles Wollaston Award, one of the most significant art prizes in the country, is also presented to the ‘most distinguished work’ in the exhibition. This year the prize went to David Nash for his work, Big Black.

The Jack Goldhill Award for Sculpture

The Hugh Casson Drawing Prize
£5,000 for an original work on paper in any medium, where the emphasis is clearly on drawing.

The Sunny Dupree Family Award for a Woman Artist
£4,000 for a painting or sculpture.

The London Original Print Fair Prize. Sponsored by Towry
£2,500 for a print in any medium.
Andrzej Jackowski, At the Lining – Forest

The Arup Prize for Emerging Talent in Architecture
£5,000 for emerging talent in architecture.
Mobile Studio Architects, Planning Permission Granted

Turkishceramics Grand Award for Architecture
£10,000 awarded to the most outstanding work of architecture.

The British Institution Awards
Four prizes of £1,000 each awarded to student exhibitors for paintings, works on paper, sculpture and architecture.
